Silence.When the silence comes
we will be called the contemplators,
originators but never innovators.
We will serenade ourselves at night
with the arabesque pinwheels
of the unquantifiable, and the inescapably
abstract pooling behind
closed eyelids.

Abstract and abstruse.
It's in our nature –
we are the tawny wings
pasted on scrawny and thick
bodies, waiting for anyone to turn
on the lamp and suck us in.
We hope for heaven,
and only get burned.

But when it comes
we'll be waiting. We were never
outspoken – listeners,
not storytellers, because no one
ever wants our stories.
We're the ones left behind
but left intact

ForeverSpiral me
Into a soft pedigree
Make mine
A line of glitter
With wispy legs and dancing feet
My chair is the seat that is empty
I come here
Like a skittish deer
Awaiting my prince to be
I can see him
Just in the clear
Where the road meets the tree
A weeping willow
With tears for leaves
That cascade over me
The prince is ethereal
I can see right through him
It matters not
That he resides in my mind
I still feel a rescue
From dominance and cold hearted people
My body lies in a whispery tangle
I can see at this angle
Where to put my apostrophe
To make things halt
So I can dance endlessly
Never to tire
Or

Never Let GoLook, my darling, past the trees and sky
It can barely be seen with your little eye
But I know in your mind, it burns so bright
It's presence lives in you day and night

As we grow older, it fades to grey
And all the memories made slowly slip away
Don't let that be you, no matter how hard it seems
Never let go of the land of your dreams

The QuietDo you see this body
With etched on lines framing my eyes
When I smile
Or frown
This extra luggage
Around my middle weighing me down
Pounds of flesh
Wide platypus feet
Gray that I try to hide
The windows of my soul are grimy
Teeth that are stained from too many cigarettes
And coffee
Hair that is chopped off short
So that I look like a boy
An eyebrow ring
Tattoos
See me
Not conforming
To a society that is starched white
With pleats
I am woman
I spit at injustice
Hear the voice that I speak
It comes from many years on this earth
I am more than this body
There is no truth to an unkind justice
Do not be blind

Your ChoiceYou carry with you
An aura of beautiful serenity
Calming those around you
Stealing my thoughts
When you leave my presence

Although I have yet to see
I imagine that even in
A moment of faltering
You would be elegant

And if the day comes
That you stumble
I will be there for you
But do you know that?
Could you possibly know that?
For you know not who I am

But some day
I will reveal myself
And it will be up to you
To either accept me
Or cast me away for good
Like many before you

BlindBlind

The colors themselves though they may try to disguise,
form a beautiful picture from the rainbow inside.
Although the colors confuse and the shades run and hide,
I'll show you each shade and I'll stay your guide.

It sounds like a melody the pen on paper,
I'll be quick to step in should your hands ever waver.
At times it's a whisper gently coaching each color,
but together were something each color a wonder.

Color, tastes like skittles,
it's not the shade outside,
but the flavor in the middle

The shades feel like petals between calloused fingers,
Soft and velvety as rough hands guide their shapes.
Tiny drops of paint are

Only In Ink...With eyes like gold
That lure and glow
Full of secrets
I'll never know

With a voice so melodic
That drags me in
And an embrace so warming
My head starts to spin

With unfaltering grace
And a flawless stroll
And oh, those eyes
That bore into my soul

They pull me in
And I'm unable to think
How can I love someone
Who exists only in ink

Mistakes[Mistakes]

"I've made a mistake" is something I'll say
Which would be quite often, almost every day
About silly little things that don't mean much
And really big things that cause a lot of fuss

Forgetting a book and even a test
Or not remembering when you confessed
Not taking out the trash at the end of the day
That leaves this strong smell that just won't go away

Arguing with my best friend, losing them at the end
A relationship that could take many years to mend
Even making new enemies at every right turn
After acting without thought or any concern

The things I've said, the acts I've done
Pushing on my chest like a million to

AddictedAddicted

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug so intense
that it doesn't make sense
a drug you don't easily get
a drug revealing regret

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug I need every day
a drug which makes me pay
a drug allowing my heart to feel
and ignoring things that are real

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug I'm starting to hate
but can't get off it, it's too late
a drug I finally regret taking
a drug which keeps my body heavily shaking

I'm addicted to a drug
a drug causing me immense pain
though it's just so little, simple and plain
a drug I traded for everything I had
a drug which can only be found inside my head

Lie To MeFingertips lace around my ribs
And pull at my skin
As my breath catches
At the coolness of your touch.

Calm these trembling hands
And hold them tight in yours.
I'll move my lips on yours
Just so you don't have to.

Hearts beat faster and
My breath shudders with insecurity.
Press my body close to yours
So I don't shatter into fragments.

Lie to me one more time.
Tangle your legs in mine,
Brush your lips along my neck.
Make me feel alive.

Vikings virtueA man of virtue is beset,
by fates that detest haste.
Walls of rock surround his path,
his retreat beaten by waves of foam.

He struggles forward,
perils he must now face.
With limp or shiver,
he forever marches homebound.

A pilgrim housed in foreign lands,
covered in sheets of snow.
Fur lined boots trample,
where men dare not travel.

A search for home,
in the lands of legends.
Amid giants of frost he goes,
Viking of Thor.

Hey, I'm still aliveHey, I'm still alive
My hearts still beats on
I'm not dead, just simply
not doing anything
I'm just moving through life
without much motion
without a care
Why should I care?
Everything ends anyway
Just don't bury me
I may come back
I may

The RushI'm ejecting myself from anger,
Violently swimming upstream.
The sharks glare through the waves when I hit the water,
Then disappear during a pause when I know to dream

To think in asymmetric patterns,
To break the definition of our world
From cold, hard calculations
To vividness run amok in an artist's swirl.

Your anger starts to sing to me,
Whispering fragments of an unexplored realm.
As I piece one world to another, suddenly
I break free of the brain's corruptive helm

It runs so deeply, even burns the veins.
How a wealth of unrequited feelings rush,
They wash open the corroded floodgates,
They leave me overwhelmed in hush.

A rock of a worldKicked around
Thrown about
Some seem special
Most thrown out

Made underground
Made to be ruthless
Small than most
He was formed
Now he's useless

Chipped and worn
Cracked but not torn
Having no purpose.

Can't move on his own
No one to be of assistance
He only wants one little thing
He wants to go the distance

He wants to travel very far
Across the land and sea
He wants so much, but can't even move
He can't be what he wants to be

He could be an airplane
Traveling far and fast
Moving at the speed of light
If only he could overcome his awful plight
He could be free.

Free.
Freer than he's ever been.
He'd see the world,

Don'tDon't be discouraged
for this path will become more familiar.
I'll be your trusty steed
and you can venture onward.

I know the weight has
become a burden,
soon you'll find yourself
becoming stronger.

Don't feel dejected
for this path will become brighter.
Leave the shadows behind you
and you can venture onward.

I know the pain has
become troublesome,
soon you'll find yourself
smiling with me.

Don't lose sight
for there is a light
at the end of this tunnel.

Never fear,
for I am here.

And thinking I wouldn't see

And I don't think that she is worth
Everything that you have lost
Like your wife, kids, and integrity
Was it worth all that it cost?

Lies the land of what's myth and true
Where thy dreams lived and future foretold
And where thou canst find the memories of old
Where time fails to keep record of every breath

allow me one question, as i'm not a native english speaker... i thought ART is 2nd person singular such as in "thou art" but you used it for the land (=third person)...i thought it should be "is the land..." and so i'm clueless now.... or did you you write art as if speaking to the land itself???

another question, were you inspired by Tolkien??

I had never quite looked at the usage of the word so much but now that I do, I suppose you are correct. Thank you... I will correct that.

And as sad as it may seem, I had not read any of his work until someone else commented earlier on this poem with his name too.

Now that I've read some of his stuff though, I really like his work and see the similarity.

it's cool that you didn't even know him and yet can write stuff which is similar and reminds of his work in many lines
especially the last line is very tolkienish, referring to the undying lands of valinor^^

being from your imagination only makes it even better now^^

please write some more of those short poems (i love them cause i don't need to look for too many words i don't know)
